Along with Jeremy Deller and Victor Burgin (posts coming soon) Grayson Perry is my total art-throb. I first came across Perry’s work on a sleepy visit to the Stedlijks Museum in Amsterdam. His pulsating appliqued dresses with embroidered penises & weapons and gilt ceramics with bondage scenes immediately woke me up out of a bad art stupor.
Perry has lent his artistic touch to a Liberty’s Prints Charming exhibition celebrating their iconic prints. His piece is a chiffon scarf, left, and interiors company Squint have come up with the amazing chandelier on the right WHICH I WANT. It is, unfortunately, a grand. The exhibition launches on the 8th of August at the Regent St store until the 2nd September and also features pieces from their archive including APC, Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony and Cacharel.
