Blogging from VFS at London Fashion Week

After being made redundant around about the time I would have been applying for LFW tickets I’m kind of sitting this fashion week out, obviously I’m not going to ignore it altogether, but it’s been great seeing the tireless coverage on blogs like Mademoiselle Robot, Disney Rolllergirl and Style Bubble and many I haven’t even mentioned, keep up the good work guys!

I’ve been guest writing for the VFS blog, at the moment I’m sat in the cosy calm of the press area at Vauxhall Fashion Scout waiting for William Tempest to start. It’s a gentle haven away from the stress and hustle of LFW. We’re all typing on pristine macs on leather topped tables with soft lighting and Lykke Li playing in the background. I feel like I’m in the womb although I’m pretty certain wombs aren’t as nice as this.

Forget dinky florals and generically kooky retro what you need is a Belle Sauvage set of high-waited bikini bottoms and panelled bustier, pictured above. I’m a little over digital prints, but the design duo’s swimwear would easily blow anyone else out of the water (geddit?) and for me it was my favourite part of the collection. I would kill to wear the high waisted bottoms and angular bra-top down Tooting Lido, AMAZE. Their show proved that you can still bring the fashion in summer and you definitely don’t have to resort flip flops/hippie/beach bum lameness.

The Louise Amstrup presentation took place on the same day as Belle Sauvage but I can hear the crowds arriving for William Tempest, so I’d better wrap up now.

PS, excuse the bad pictures, it’s hard to maintain Mad Photoshop Skillz when you’re on iPhoto x
