Spicebomb Viktor and Rolf’s new scent for men is a little bit darker and muskier than Flowerbomb its female counterpart, but that’s no bad thing. I love to steal men’s scents, overly sweet smells just ain’t my thing, I’d much rather go for a musky, woody, traditionally ‘male’ smell.
Launched with a bang and an explosion of silver glitter in an ominous car park just minutes from Soho, Spicebomb is the kind of scent you’d describe as ‘darkly seductive’ without a hint of embarrassment. It marries pink peppercorns, chilli and saffron with more traditional tobacco and wood components. There’s a hint of freshness provided by the bergamot which stops it from becoming too cloying.
The bottle is a James Bond-esque grenade shape, with smoked glass which is a pretty practical bonus. The ‘pin’ you release to spray the scent is both a nice detail and brilliant idea for travel and comes with the Viktor & Rolf logo dangling off the side.
Spicebomb is available exclusively in Harrods until March when you’ll be able to get it nationwide.
