Catwalk shows are thrilling and sometimes a little tear-inducing (who me?) but it’s always nice to get up close to the collections and check out the seams and the fabrics. Tactile vs catwalk, its not possible to pick but for designers like Michael van der Ham and Lucas Nascimento seeing the clothes and having a feel can’t be beaten.
Kinder Aggugini was one of the shows I didn’t catch at LFW, so seeing his Western-inspired looks was a treat. Stiff tailoring, complete with swaggering cowboy arms, cut into a bowed curve were teamed with clomping DM loafers, with a little gold kiltie for interest. I fell in love with the full-length evening dress which had a halter-back beaded and lace section and featured a subtle version of the cowboy print.
Simone Rocha’s clear macs with crocheted collars encased in the plastic are a total lust-list no brainer, similarly the lace and clear plastic skirts are demanding to be layered with pastel/sherbet tights, skirts and shorts.
