Been doing a lot of swimming recently, in lidos, pools and even in the sea this weekend which was actually warmer than the lido. I haven’t always liked swimming but there’s nothing nicer when you’re freelance than rolling out of bed into a pool to wake you up and get the blood moving.
Alexander Wagner’s poolside shoot for Foam mag is totally tickling my swim bone, there’s something satisfyingly municipal about the lighting. I love that 70s athletic geek aesthetic, the pared-down tomboy look is perfect for summer. Some vintage jeans, an old tee and lace up pumps, it’s all you need for japes and outdoor fun with your gang.
Wagner’s shoot reminds me of the awesome Chemical Brothers video for Elektrobank which featured Sofia Coppola busting out some rhythm gymnastics, I was totally obsessed with that vid when it came out.
