I sort of posted about my Mexico trip last year but there were so many pics so seeing as a) everyone seems to be going to Mexico at the moment, b) I’m not on holiday, c) we could all use a bank hol pick me up, I’ve decided to put up some more images.
We were in Cancun which isn’t exactly the most Lonely Planet place but we were staying with my friend who is actually helping fishermen save the coral reef U GUYZ, plus we didn’t go to Coco Bongos or Senor Frogs once. Those are real places btw.
Cancun beach, it might be touristy but it’s still beautiful, you can see pelicans flying over the sea.
Lovely salad in a cafe on Isla Mujeres just a short boat ride away from Cancun.
This is a quesadilla with huitlacoche, a fungus that grows on corn. The concept is gross but it tastes amazing.
Just chilling on the beach in my chazza M&S shirt.
Tacos from the supermarket, we ate here nearly everyday. The tortillas are freshly made from corn which fluffy and light, nothing like your claggy rank supermarket wrap.
I don’t know if it was the margaritas or the sunset but I kind of shed a tear when these guys played on the boat home from Isla Mujeres.
Stairs, steep inclines and heights: my three worst fears rolled into one. I made it up about ten steps before my legs started shaking.
Cancun sun visor: Walmart, George Grosz t-shirt: charity shop, 60s shorts: charity shop, sandals from Greece.
Driving back from the temple. At some point on this journey we all did a note-perfect radio singalong of Alanis Morrissette’s Isn’t It Ironic, ‘it’s like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife’. Wise words.
Love this Jack Johnson d-bag walking around strumming his geetar.
