It’s pretty much that time of year, where everything feels sparkly and cosy and you think… ‘oh shit, I need to start buying Christmas presents’. I was idly looking up presents for myself because that’s how I roll when I stumbled on Martine Wester at H Samuel. Lucky find because Martine Wester’s jewellery is great [...]
Planning a full Venice post, but here’s a gif of some of my favourite moments. The Biennale was great, the two highlights that nearly made me cry were S.S. Hangover by Ragnar Kjartansson, a beautiful piece featuring a brass band on a boat and Jeremy Deller’s British Pavillion which included the English Magic video.
My love for moisturising or ‘hydrashe’ has become a bit of a joke, to the point that I’ll start singing ‘I would wear 500 creams and I would wear 500 more!’ to the tune of that Proclaimers song. Vichy’s Idéalia Life Serum is one of those 500 creams, a rich and moisturising serum that you [...]
Super-cute video on the making of Mulberry’s LFW invites, cute little Wedgewood cup and saucer sets.
As you read this I am in sunny Venice, most likely drinking a negroni and enjoying Jeremy Deller‘s exhibition at the Biennale. Two of my favourite things! Check my Instagram for smugadicci updatatorrini.
This week I got some new shoes c/o [...]
Antipodium London Fashion Week SS14
Antipodium is another of the cherry-picked shows I attend at London fashion week. Their Somerset House presentation was so tucked away I nearly missed it, but thankfully arrived just in time to see a waft of pleated metallic organza, shocking pink houndstooth and some brilliant tailoring.
This season Geoffrey J Finch [...]
Anyone who’s seen Black Swan, laughed at the ballet sketch on Smack the Pony or heard about the gnarliness of going en pointe knows that ballet is a tough job. You’d be forgiven for thinking that Iris Prima, a recent fragrance launch by Penhaligon’s, is a sweet and cloying scent but it’s a robust perfume [...]
Despite some lovely sun I definitely have that back to school vibe, fashion week season has kicked off and I’m digging out the chunky jumpers. This week I came back from France and slowly re-adjusted to normal life, mainly by eating French cheese. Another treat from France was an amazing leather and wool American Retro [...]
Who better to flex his digits for the monkstrap shoe than Tony Shalhoub, aka TV detective Adrian Monk? The monk strap shoe was never far from my thoughts last year, it’s a great shoe and a refuge from the classic, but now ubiquitous brogue. With slightly scholarly looks they embody ‘back to school’ vibes like [...]
Back in the motherland having a break, been mostly eating, sleeping, working (bien sur) and sneaking internet breaks. Oh and getting a TAN. Obvs. I’m ‘gramming the days away if you need more of me, but here are some slightly sun-dried, not quite fresh links from my last two weeks..
“The closest I ever felt [...]
Earlier this year, much earlier this year in fact (it’s a testament to how much I hate transcribing) I visited the Riyka studio in Dalston to meet Rebecca and Vedran, the couple behind the label. I’ve worn Riyka before, their simple, practical -I love that word- designs are perfect for real livin’. Their brand of [...]
