There was the usual playfighting, stupid fits of laughter and some horseplay with a snuggie. All in all a pretty good weekend.

More bank holiday pics, what better excuse than a wedding to slap on a buttload of make-up and do your hair to max ‘voyume’? Weddings are always a total nightmare for me sartorially, it’s not about fashion, it’s about looking NICE and there are rules like no black, no white and probably a hundred other secret rules that you’ll only hear about once you’ve picked your dress. Can you tell weddings stress me out?

I went for a New Look denim jacket which was a sample sale bargain, my beloved no6 clogs and a champagne-colour silk dress kindly sent to me by InWear. Great timing, killed most of my usual pre-wedding outfit anxiety. The boatyard outside the venue provided the perfect spot for a some posing antics, I’m pretty sure the rest of the (non-blogger) guests thought we were a bunch of loons.

Word to the wise, make sure your blogger boyfriend™ aka photographer, is clean and sober before they start taking outfit pics for you. Looking through my memory card and it was a graveyard of cropped feet, blurry silhouettes and dark shadows (kidding Sam ILU!). Evidence below. I don’t usually post pics of my amazing friends but check out my efforts in return, that was the first take. What a busy week! Saw Stereo Total, which was on of the best gigs of my life ever, I’m totally in love with Françoise. I couldn’t stop smiling for about an hour afterwards, if you can see them live do it!

Sometimes I waver between going to a press day and having a relaxed full lunch break, I decided to soldier on to the Toast press day and it was wonderfully worth it, I left feeling refreshed and laden with knowledge. One of the designers very kindly took me round, talking about the team’s love of Yohji maxi skirts and how they tried to recreate the vibe with their long swishing skirts.
Toast have really got a fantastic knack for producing both ‘heritage’ separates (simple, long-lasting beautiful wardrobe glue type stuff) and the kind of clothes that you might see in a museum and think ‘jesus, I want to take this home, now.’ Intricate, non-western craft that is often much Got it? Ok, read on.

All the clothes have a great story behind them, from the handknit socks to the simple mustard knits and the British tweeds. Quite lazily there honestly is so much I want to wear I don’t really know where to start, glossy rusty orange ballet pumps, madras tweedy skirts, chartreuse scarves and the skirt that transforms into a pair of culottes (above, middle left.)

Toast have also documented behind the scenes, the elderly women who knit their woolens, the UK factories that weave their fabrics, it’s a total treat for any fashion nerd and Toast have put up a variety of their trends, finds, and stories on the new Toast Travels website which I wholeheartedly recommend.

This season everyone is attempting, or considering clogs but think for a minute what you’re going to do once you have said footwear. I think we should all get into clog dancing this summer, and this video sent by my lovely Cumbrian pal Paul, is the perfect example of clog dancing. Watch the teens get down with the olds and check out the girl’s Christopher Kane check skirt. For what it’s worth my money is on a pair of silver and pink Maguba clogs, h-h-h-heaven.

More recently I stopped in my tracks in front of Chrissie Abbott’s interpretation of the room. To cut a long story short, I want one of her prints. Stat. More specifically, I want the lightbox below which, should you wander to Wells St in London, you can go and see for yourself. Isn’t it amazing?

Having just moved to a new house, (which I’m sure I’ll moan about at some point soon) I’m getting into interiors blogs, print buying and paint shades and will have to splash out on one of her prints. You can buy a selection of her work from Vetika, but what I really want to know is when is this one for sale?! Answers on a postcard.
