A Topshop collaboration just before Fashion Week feels like a tradition now. This season we’re being treated to another helping of JW Anderson, and it seems he’s gone all school vibez. There’s a nice play between ‘good girl’ pieces like the revisited loafers and pleated skirt with a subversive, rebellious spirit that would have you [...] I was going to post something completely different but my image filing system leaves er, a lot to be desired and I landed on a ton of London Fashion Week pics. Topical! I took this in the lifts at One Aldwych after biking all over the shop to see shows. Everyone should own a DVF [...] Catwalk shows are thrilling and sometimes a little tear-inducing (who me?) but it’s always nice to get up close to the collections and check out the seams and the fabrics. Tactile vs catwalk, its not possible to pick but for designers like Michael van der Ham and Lucas Nascimento seeing the clothes and having a [...] London Fashion Week Sunday started bright and early with Margaret Howell’s Wigmore street show. Military inspired with a jaunty, outdoorsy feel it was the perfect way to kick off the day. Tam o’ Shanters, vintage style military tailoring and lots of greys and navy make me a very happy bunny indeed. Mad props to Topshop and Mulberry [...] London Fashion Week’s second day was a big un, with Daks starting off proceeding and Clements Ribeiro following shortly and dividing opinion. I loved the prints and the colour, but I wasn’t so sure about the pleather… Faves of mine Teatum Jones held their presentation in Liberty, the wooded pannelled room providing the perfect setting for [...] London Fashion Week Fridays always fizzle into action rather than bang and this season was no different. The sun was already beginning to fade as I cycled over Waterloo bridge but there were still some great shows ahead. I arrived at Somerset House to even more street style photographers than last season. Is this possible? From [...] Topshop Unique’s LFW show was held at the old Eurostar terminal which gave it a Bum Bum Train surrealness, I was half expecting to be wheeled out of the show and into some other random scene, like a boxing ring or tea room. Loved all the ‘don’t wear heels’ tweets, it was a mere minutes [...] Exciting news, Michael Van Der Ham, one of my favourite emerging designers, is being stocked at Liberty. A pretty handful of his AW10 collection has just hit the store, I can just imagine the pieces against the dark wood interior. He manages to mix a hodgepodge of fabrics & textures and yet his pieces still [...] It looks like it’s going to a cosy AW next season, Margaret Howell continued the outdoorsy themes seen at other shows inc Unique, filtered through the Howell lens. Trenchcoats, cuffed cords and belted sweaters totally appeal to my not-so-secret French preppy side and I loo-oove MG anyways.This catwalk show has pretty much just triggered a [...]  |
