Three cheers for this River Island tote bag, I bought it in the summer and it’s been everywhere with me. The leather is amazing quality for the high street and I get complimented on it wherever I go. I’ve used it on the beach, for weekends away, riding around on my bike and nights out… It’s taken a bit of a beating but still looks amazing.
I’m starting to slog through some of the mammoth recaps from my holiday, here’s a little light one for you from sunny beautiful Mexico. It was so unreal to lounge around on empty white sand beaches, total paradise experience. I get a kick out of trying lots of different beauty products on holiday, you hardly bother with makeup which makes a nice change. It’s refreshing to get out of your everyday routine, from work to beauty to outfits. I did end up wearing my 60s floral shorts pretty much every day with a variety of tiny tops for maximum tannage. Also, who knew a margharita straw makes a perfect snorkel?
High street maverick River Island are bringing another dose of fun and inventiveness for AW11, LOVE the ponyskin jewelled boots at the bottom of the post, they are definitely going on my must-have list for Autumn. Insta-cool. Great to see Chelsea Girl, the ’80s label which is making a comeback. It’s like the best bits of charity shop finds, all edited and revamped for your shopping pleasure. More faves: the flower collar, the BCBG slipper flats and the collar and cuffs set. Bonza. Scroll down for a shot of RI PR Arieta throwing some shapes like no one else can. News comes today that Selfridges is hosting a selection of River Island’s AW shoe collection, the launch of which will coincide with fashion week. It’s a further blurring of high street and high fashion, and seems somewhat inevitable after the slew of designer collaborations we’ve had over the last decade. The shoes will be available [...] Wow, it’s really been so long I’ve forgotten the max pixel width of my images, pure blogger lulz. Anyway, onto to the neeeews. River Island totally know how to throw a party. Their press days are lively enough, so when they actually held a party tonight (in aid of their Ts of Trust tee shirt [...] Autumn is here and with it the panicked search for a new season’s wardrobe. Every season it’s the same: “What the hell did I used to wear?” After a few trips to the car boot, the charity shop, a spontaneous mission to H&M in High St Ken and a planned trip to COS as soon as the sales start I think I’ve got the clothes sorted. The shoes… Well that’s a whole other matter. Having accepted that I don’t really wear heels (wore some today) and that ballet pumps are a bit dull (wearing some now) the shoe-choices are a little more limited. Especially as being a real grown up I have to look smart but without the universal domination properties of heels you have to choose your footwear carefully.  |
