Thanks to Rachael, and by extension Twineth, for alerting me to how good Radley shoes are at the moment. At a press day today instead of ambling past I made a beeline for the shoes and yes, they are as good as the summer collection. Chunky-heeled lace ups in dirty lime and black have that Heartbeat [...] Charlotte Olympia is a name that has been cropping up quite a lot recently. Her shoes seem to be on the feet of all the pretty people on the internet and in magazines. I’m listening to my ‘Nicey Nice‘ playlist as I type, staring at the wonderfulness, and it’s really therapeutic, give it a go! [...] That is all, see you bye! We Brits are blessed when it comes to the high street, I wouldn’t swap Dorothy Perkins for any amount of J Crews or Kookais but there ain’t nothing like a charity shop. When I lived in Brighton I used to regularly make a solo day trip to grey seaside towns for the chazzas followed by [...] Autumn is here and with it the panicked search for a new season’s wardrobe. Every season it’s the same: “What the hell did I used to wear?” After a few trips to the car boot, the charity shop, a spontaneous mission to H&M in High St Ken and a planned trip to COS as soon as the sales start I think I’ve got the clothes sorted. The shoes… Well that’s a whole other matter. Having accepted that I don’t really wear heels (wore some today) and that ballet pumps are a bit dull (wearing some now) the shoe-choices are a little more limited. Especially as being a real grown up I have to look smart but without the universal domination properties of heels you have to choose your footwear carefully.
What’s the first thing you do when you get made redundant? Go shoe-shopping obviously. COS made me do it, they just make the most covetable kooky minimal clothes on the high street (srsly I was ready to buy a skirt and top as well) as well as having ridiculous sales (70% off? Mais oui).  |
