What’s the first thing you do when you get made redundant? Go shoe-shopping obviously. COS made me do it, they just make the most covetable kooky minimal clothes on the high street (srsly I was ready to buy a skirt and top as well) as well as having ridiculous sales (70% off? Mais oui).

I have a new shopping rule: if I like something I try it on and if I’m still worrying that someone else might snap it up after I’ve put it back then I take it home. So when I found myself walking down Regent Street thinking of the plastic/leather goodness and that there was only one size 40 left, I knew it was worth a small splurge. £119 down to £35 = me taking them home and possibly wearing them to the jobcentre tomorrow. Ha.

They look pretty good against the checked grey formica table and mushroom grey wall, but the image also highlights my increasingly ridiculous obsession with grey. £40 sale binge on grey in Uniqlo? HI!

They’re a nice combination of special shoe and sexy shoe. I like them very much and feel certain they will get you a job.
