Balenciaga pre-fall: pattern mixing perfection

Can you feel the simmering pre Fashion Week excitement in the air? This is really nice time, SS11 hasn’t yet dropped into stores and we’re just biding our time till we can see the AW11 collections. I’m currently drooling over the Balenciaga pre-fall, a mish-mash of patterns and textures. The key is in the clash of old-timey prints, with a bold and simple injection of something sporty and clean.

I’m loving this pic of Natalie Joos by Hanneli below, it’s that perfect mix of eclectic with a clean sporty touch that makes it modern. It reminds me of the kind of thing Michael van der Ham does so well and I want to experiment with this year.
