I recently was offered the opportunity to visit Brussels and I took it with both hands. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this town and I wasn’t disappointed. Belgians are like the best bits of the French without the attitude problem, I can say that because y’know, I am French.
We were treated to a stay in Hotel Bloom in Brussels which despite its huge size still manages to retain a boutique feel. It’s down to touches like the unique artwork in every room and free water in the minibar. My room was really spacious and laid out in a way that gives you a little bit of living space.
I never sleep as well as in a hotel room and with blackout blinds and a huge bed I couldn’t have asked for a better night’s kip. Breakfast consists of a very exciting buffet of pastries, cooked breakfast goods and cold hams and cheeses European-style. They also have a huge array of teas which always gets a double thumbs up from me, I went for an Orange Pekoe and delicious it was too.
They have wifi throughout the hotel, as well as free computers in the basement should you need to erm, print off your Eurostar booking at the last minute AHEM. The in-room entertainment has a wide range of channels and movies, love watching a bit of TF1, French adverts are just so much cooler.
A stay in Hotel Bloom starts at €69.
