Christmas is here! I’ve watched the Simpsons Christmas special, thought about buying a bottle of O’Gradys for pre-lunch booze consumption and I’m wearing Christmas socks RIGHT NOW. I fucking love Christmas, so I’ve compiled a list of fun things going on in the ol Smoke to get you feeling festive.
To get you in the right frame of mind just make yourself an O’Gradys coffee and listen to this slice of amazing from my postcode buds South East 17.
Geffrye Museum – 29 Nov to 8 Jan
If you haven’t got your decs up just head to the Geffrye Museum where they have festooned all their variously era-ed rooms with the appropriate baubles and trinkets. It’s worth alone to see what they have come up with in the ’90s room LOL. That room gets me every time. LINK
Winter Wonderland – 30 Nov to 3 Jan
I normally hate this kind of shiz, crowds and ripoff merchants doth not spell Christmas to me, well actually that’s pretty much Christmas in a nutshell but I’d rather ignore that side of things. However, the infinitely trustworthy Rachael has been and assures me that it’s a barrel of fun. LINK
Duckie Christmas Market - 10-30 Dec
Duckie, the brilliant cabaret/club night collective have curated a Christmas market at the Barbican to sit alongside their current show. Expect fun, crafty gifts with tongue firmly in cheek. LINK

Shelter are holding a Christmas Fete in Islington with gifts, a grotto and all sorts of fun Christmas goings on. Shelter are a brilliant charity, so forget your high street shops and go present shopping for a good cause. LINK
The Mother of All Goose Parties – Sat 17th Dec
My super talented flatmate Eugenie is part of Little Bulb theatre company and they will be hosting a Christmas party at BAC. Expect eye-wateringly heartwarming music (they are the cutest theatre company in the land!) and funny frolics with a DJ afterwards. LINK
Carols by Candlelight – Sun 18th Dec
The Union Chapel is the cosiest venue ever and watching carols by candlelight in this lovely venue sounds like the perfect way to get yourself feeling Christmassy. What’s more if you turn up at 3pm on the day you can take part in the choir, I’m deffo going to be giving my pipes a workout on Sunday. If you’re not a singer, just turn up, get yourself a cup of tea and a Kit Kat and soak up the songs. LINK
