I love reading a good Chrimbo Gift Guide, even when it gets to the ridiculous ‘gifts for your eco-friendly cousin’ heights. I haven’t gone quite that far, this is more of a list of things that have caught my eye recently as well as favourite products I want to share. I’m quite picky when it [...]
Gareth Pugh’s collection for MAC hit stores yesterday, packaged in Pugh’s trademark triangular pattern. A first for the Sunderland born designer, it’s a mix of subdued nudes and brooding violets.
My money’s on the iridescent oil slick nail varnishes, perfect for winter nights.

Molton Brown’s Apuldre (pronounced ‘Apple-dore’) scent was released late summer as part of their Navigations Through Scent collection, a range of five fragrances for both men and women inspired by travels round the globe. I love the dimpled glass bottle, it feels classic, slightly retro and masculine. It also has a handy twist-lock lid which is perfect for going away.
This blog is becoming rather food-heavy at the moment, which is no bad thing but I do have a stack of fashion posts lined up for this week to even things out a little. Caphe House on Bermondsey Street is a great find, fantastic quality Vietnamese food for a more than decent price. I had [...]
I’m starting to slog through some of the mammoth recaps from my holiday, here’s a little light one for you from sunny beautiful Mexico. It was so unreal to lounge around on empty white sand beaches, total paradise experience.
I get a kick out of trying lots of different beauty products on holiday, you hardly bother with makeup which makes a nice change. It’s refreshing to get out of your everyday routine, from work to beauty to outfits. I did end up wearing my 60s floral shorts pretty much every day with a variety of tiny tops for maximum tannage. Also, who knew a margharita straw makes a perfect snorkel?

My second installment from Paris, Paco Rabanne sent me over the channel to celebrate their Black XS perfume and teach me how to be a rockstar. We stayed in the lovely Mama Shelter hotel which you can see here. We were taken to a rocking venue La Maroquinerie where we were treated to the slightly unsettling experience of being a rockstar, complete with paps shouting your name. Gwynnie I feel your pain, call me.
Once inside the rock star treatment continued with fun activities like crowdsurfing, guitar smashing and tatts, obvs. Check out Be A Rockstar to get a taste of the experience and scroll down to see more pics from the night.

Chanel’s Shade Parade video is a feelgood amble through some of their different polishes all done in a 30s musical stylee. This is such a great example of a luxury brand doing something fun and social, but totally true to the brand. Love the pearl and chain finger swings!
This summer (ha! summer, yeah right) never really got going so there wasn’t that much need for your trad ‘be summer-ready!’ type beauty products that I’m a sucker for. There were a few things I started using this summer that did make such a good impression that I’ll carry on well into autumn.
Even if the [...]

This summer I’ve updated my makeup bag with some new purchases that have become essentials. I tend to the natural end of make-up, I’m not so interested in crazy colours, but more into looking like I’ve had a delicious 9 hours sleep, which is a rare occurance.
I don’t really wear foundation, but Aveda’s Inner Light tinted moisturiser is light enough to wear everyday and it has SPF. It’s non-greasy as well, so I can wear it and not get a sweaty mirror/forehead. Bonus. Benefit’s Porefessional is a bit of a miracle product, it’s a silicon based mattifier/pore refiner which gives an unreal soft focus glow to your skin.
Diane Von Furstenberg is pretty cool right? Amazing au naturel face, uber glamorous with a penchant for a witty line or two, Diane was also part of the Studio 54 crew in its heyday. Basically you can’t imagine her not being cool but I didn’t realise quite what a force of nature she was until she spoke at the recent launch of her new perfume.
