The latest perfume in the Penhaligon’s stable is Peoneve, a very girly sounding mix of rose and peony which on paper wouldn’t necessarily push my perfume buttons. I love peony flowers and I love the smell of roses but as a perfume it can sometimes be a bit cloying and reminiscent bathroom products.

Spring has sprung! It’s officially time for us Brits to spend time outside drinking alcohol which is exactly what I did today in the garden with a huge bowl of baba ganoush for company. Here’s a peek at some lovely spring things that made my weekend. My new DVF pochette was a Bicester buy, I [...]
Lush’s solid perfumes make a great addition to anyone’s scent library, I’ve just been swiping some on after my morning shower to wear with my usual smells, they add a bit of interest and mix things up a bit.
Vanillary has musk notes that stop it from being too cloying, it just kind of smells of [...]
Spicebomb Viktor and Rolf’s new scent for men is a little bit darker and muskier than Flowerbomb its female counterpart, but that’s no bad thing. I love to steal men’s scents, overly sweet smells just ain’t my thing, I’d much rather go for a musky, woody, traditionally ‘male’ smell.

This week’s Sunday Sundries is pretty domesticated, think I’m doing a bit of pre-fashion week hibernation. The Clerk Ink Well print above I spotted as a recommendation from India Knight and posted it up on my Christmas Gift Guide and now it’s in my hallway. Thanks Faf, Frince and Mia! It’s just the thing to [...]
Bottega Veneta released their first fragrance a few months ago and recently I’ve been relying on it to remind me of summer days. Taking the label’s trademark intrecciato woven leather as a starting point it’s a wonderfully simple, grown-up smell. Bottega Veneta Creative Director Thomas Maier describes as ‘a dream of the Venetian countryside’, ‘suffused [...]

Molton Brown’s Apuldre (pronounced ‘Apple-dore’) scent was released late summer as part of their Navigations Through Scent collection, a range of five fragrances for both men and women inspired by travels round the globe. I love the dimpled glass bottle, it feels classic, slightly retro and masculine. It also has a handy twist-lock lid which is perfect for going away.
Diane Von Furstenberg is pretty cool right? Amazing au naturel face, uber glamorous with a penchant for a witty line or two, Diane was also part of the Studio 54 crew in its heyday. Basically you can’t imagine her not being cool but I didn’t realise quite what a force of nature she was until she spoke at the recent launch of her new perfume.

My skin has a nice tendency of turning even the loveliest smells into a rancid stink, so I’m quite picky about the scent I put on my skin. I also hate that generic perfume smell that gets right up your nose, so I like to do some intense research before buying scents.
